Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair boilers and auxiliary equipment (pumps, steam/water valves, air compressors, high‑pressure condensate)
  • Monitor load demands and adjust boilers, compressors, and pumps to maintain required steam, air, and water output
  • Monitor and adjust chemical feed systems for water treatment to ensure proper levels
  • Manipulate valves and equipment controls to regulate steam, water, and fuel flow
  • Inspect boiler safety devices and observe meters/gauges to ensure proper operation
  • Report abnormal conditions or major repair needs to supervisors and assist in corrective action
  • Perform minor repairs (meters, valves, gaskets, joints) as needed
  • Maintain boiler room cleanliness and safety standards
  • Assist in annual boiler inspections and preparation
  • Demonstrate safe work practices and adherence to organizational safety programs
Required Qualifications
  • Operator 2 Ammonia Certification (minimum requirement)
  • 5+ years of experience as a refrigeration technician/operator
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Proficiency in reading schematics
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ammonia refrigeration experience
  • RETA Certification preferred
  • Knowledge of engine & boiler systems, electricity & motor controls, pneumatics & hydraulics, mechanical systems
  • Experience with predictive/preventive maintenance, site utilities, and system troubleshooting
  • Skills in pipefitting, welding, machining, or metal fabrication a plus
  • Willingness to travel 100%

Schedule
  • 12‑hour shifts
