Job Title: Electro-Mechanical Technician

There is a $1.00 shift differential pay for night shift for the hours between 6:00pm – 6:00am
Type of Facility: Bakery, producing a variety of bread and buns (Union facility) 3 lines total

Shift Makeup:
- Position available for 2nd (3p -11p) and 3rd (11p – 6a)
- Schedule type: 8hr shifts rotating weekends off, 5-6 techs per shift
Must Have:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or certification in industrial maintenance, electrical, or mechanical systems preferred.
- 2 years minimum of industrial manufacturing (5+ years preferred)
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently, looking for a well-rounded technician
- Knowledge of PLC systems, control systems, and industrial automation.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals.
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.

Nice to Have:
- Experience working in food manufacturing (bakery experience a plus)

Primary Responsibilities:
- Preventative Maintenance:
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all bakery equipment, including ovens, mixers, dividers, conveyors, slicers, packaging machines, refrigeration systems, boilers, ect
- Lubricate, clean, and adjust machinery according to manufacturer specifications and established maintenance schedules.
- Inspect equipment for wear and tear, identifying and addressing potential issues before they lead to breakdowns.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities.
- Troubleshooting and Repair:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic equipment failures.
- Perform repairs and replacements of faulty components, including motors, pumps, valves, sensors, and control systems.
- Utilize electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals to identify and resolve equipment problems.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
- Equipment Installation and Modification:
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new bakery equipment.
- Perform modifications and upgrades to existing equipment to improve performance and efficiency.
- Ensure all installations and modifications comply with safety regulations and company standards.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations, including lockout/tagout procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Report any safety hazards or equipment deficiencies to management.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and standards.
- Inventory Management:
- Maintain an inventory of spare parts and supplies.
- Order and receive parts as needed.
- Track and document parts usage.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with production and sanitation teams to ensure efficient equipment operation.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and other maintenance personnel.
- Provide technical support and training to other employees as needed.
- Maintain a work order system and input all relevant data.
The plant has a mixture of equipment ranging in age from 50 to 5 years old. Familiarity with older systems integrated with new is very beneficial.
