Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate multi‑axis CNC lathes, VTLs, and 5‑axis mill‑turn machines to manufacture precision components
  • Optimize existing CNC programs to improve performance, tool life, and part quality
  • Install and adjust tooling, fixtures, and offsets
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T specifications
  • Conduct in‑process and final inspections using manual and automated metrology tools
  • Maintain tight tolerances on steel, cast iron, and heat‑resistant alloys
  • Monitor machining operations and make real‑time adjustments
  • Maintain accurate production and inspection records
  • Work collaboratively with engineering, quality, and production teams
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance
  • Follow all safety standards and maintain an organized work environment

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience operating multi‑axis CNC machines (VTLs or 5‑axis mill‑turn equipment required)
  • Familiarity with basic G‑code
  • Proficient conducting inspections using manual and automated tools
  • Ability to read and interpret GD&T specifications
  • Strong multitasking abilities; able to run multiple machines
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, crawl, and perform physical job functions

Preferred Skills

  • CNC program editing
  • Tool & Die background
  • Ability to identify KCIs not clearly defined

Schedule

  • Days: Monday–Friday
  • Hours: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
  • Type: Weekday schedule
  • Hours per week: ~40 hours, with 5–8 hours of potential overtime
Requirements
  • Willingness to travel 100%
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work in a facility manufacturing parts for naval vessels, including motors, frames, brackets, and large assemblies
