Key Responsibilities
-
Maintain and repair boilers and auxiliary equipment (pumps, steam/water valves, air compressors, high‑pressure condensate)
-
Monitor load demands and adjust boilers, compressors, and pumps to maintain required steam, air, and water output
-
Monitor and adjust chemical feed systems for water treatment to ensure proper levels
-
Manipulate valves and equipment controls to regulate steam, water, and fuel flow
-
Inspect boiler safety devices and observe meters/gauges to ensure proper operation
-
Report abnormal conditions or major repair needs to supervisors and assist in corrective action
-
Perform minor repairs (meters, valves, gaskets, joints) as needed

Maintain boiler room cleanliness and safety standards

Assist in annual boiler inspections and preparation
-
Demonstrate safe work practices and adherence to organizational safety programs
Required Qualifications
-
Operator 1 Ammonia Certification (minimum requirement)

2+ years of experience as a refrigeration technician/operator
-
High school diploma or GED
-
Valid driver’s license
-
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Proficiency in reading schematics
-
Ammonia refrigeration experience
-
Knowledge of engine & boiler systems, electricity & motor controls, pneumatics & hydraulics, mechanical systems
-
Experience with predictive/preventive maintenance, site utilities, and system troubleshooting

Willingness to travel 100%
Preferred Qualifications

Operator 2 Ammonia Certification

RETA Certification
-
Skills in pipefitting, welding, machining, or metal fabrication
